GDP adjusted for pricing and seasonal factors grew 0.6% q/q and 2.4% y/ in Q3 2018. This stems from the estimation by the Czech Statistical Office. The growth was driven by gross fixed capital formation (+9.3% y/y) and spending on households’ end consumption (+3.1%) and government institutions’ spending (+5.3%). Investment activity continued to grow mainly thanks to higher government spending and growing corporate investments. The no. of employed persons totalled 5.432 million (+1.2%). Wage costs soared 9.4%.
