Czech brewery Radegast managed to significantly reduce the amount of water used for the beer brewing process. While the brewing average in water consumption is around 4-5 hl of water per 1 hl of beer, Radegast managed to push down the water consumption to 2.51 hl of water per 1 hl of beer. According to Radegast representatives, the brewery reduced the water consumption by 38 % over the past 10 years. The total amount of water consists not only of the water used during the brewing process, but also of water used for cleaning of the bottles and barrels, plant sanitation and sanitary facilities in the brewery.
