Date : 27.05.2008We are pleased to invite you to the event “Czech Bio Organic Food and Cosmetics” on the 5 June 2008 in the Czech House, Rue du Trône 60, B-1050 Brussels in the premises of the Czech Centre. The event will take place under the auspices of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Belgium H. E. Mr. Vladimír Müller.
The Czech organic market is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. In 2007 the turnover of organic food in the Czech Republic grew by impressive 70 % to reach 1,29 billion CZK (52 million EUR). The number of organic farms and producers of organic food is also growing rapidly. In 2007 there were 1318 organic farms in the Czech Republic (37 % increase compared to 2006) and organically farmed land represented 7,35 % of the total agricultural land. In 2007 there were 253 producers of organic food registered in the Czech Republic (66 % increase compared to 2006). There are 3 inspection and certification bodies for organic food approved by the European Union in the Czech Republic. In 2007 one body also started certification of organic cosmetics (products of 4 producers have already been certified). Czech organic producers export their products successfully to most European countries but also outside Europe.
10 selected leading Czech organic producers interested in finding partners for distribution of their products on the Benelux market (also under privat label) will be presenting at this event their organic food and cosmetics products and it will be possible to meet them between 9:00 and 15:00. Attractive salary costs and high production standards (besides bio organic certification most of the Czech producers holds other certificates such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, HACCP, IFS, BRC and others) are some of the most important facts that make Czech companies attractive as suppliers for Benelux companies.
