The GDP of the Czech Republic increased 0.7% q/q and 2.4% y/y in the second quarter of 2018. The growth was driven primarily by investment expenses and consumption of households. This stems from a specified estimation published by the Czech Statistical Office.
The gross value added was up by 0.5% q/q and 2.4% y/y.
The growth in the Czech economy was also followed by a growth in the employment.
An average of 5.44 million people were employed in the Czech Republic in Q2. The total employment increased 0.6% q/q and 1.9% y/y in the period.
