Employees will get money even during the first three days of illness. The Chamber of Deputies outvoted the Senate.

The sick employees will receive part of their salary even during the first three days of the illness, as suggested by the ČSSD (Social Democrats). The Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday voted against the Senate, who wanted to keep the current situation, when the sick employees did not receive anything during the first three days. The change should be valid from July this year, the signature of the President is still missing but the Senate does not vote for it again.

The wage compensation currently paid from the 4th to the 14th day of sickness is paid by the employer at the rate of three fifths of the average daily earnings. During the first three days now, the employees will now receive 60 percent of the daily base. From the 15th day of illness, insurance benefits will continue to be provided.
Employers, on the other hand, can reduce their contributions by 0.2 percentage points.
