FIMES, joint-stock company Uherské Hradiště is a subsidiary of the joint-stock company MESIT Holding – group of 13 companies connected in terms of capital and technologies. All subsidiaries of the holding have their place of business on one modern integrated industrial site and directly continue more than 50-year tradition of the development and production of aircraft instruments, radio communications, measuring equipment, computer technology, printed circuits, precision castings, moulds, tools, and precision engineering components.

FIMES, a.s. was established at the beginning of 1993. The management and majority of employees continue the successful work of the FOUNDRY and TOOL SHOP of the original parent company MESIT, a.s.

The production programme of FIMES has gradually developed towards the most sophisticated products in the respective production areas:

Production of technologically demanding thin-section precision castings made of aluminium alloys and precision castings made of steel and non-ferrous metals
Production of moulds for the processing of plastics and moulds for metal casting

FIMES, a.s. is a modern company with a long tradition and extensive experience. In the respective markets, it is regarded as a renowned producer of precision castings, injection moulds, and tools. The products with the FIMES trade mark are characterised by high quality and reliability and are successfully applied in significant production programmes in more than 15 countries in the world.

FIMES, a.s. has established and maintained the quality management system ensuring the stability of all corporate processes. Individual activities and processes are clear and easy to identify and demonstrate conformity to the requirements of customers as well as effective operations of the company. The quality management system of the joint-stock company has been certified since April 1998. On 10 June 2003, the quality management system was successfully recertified according to EN ISO 9001:2000.

They offer favourable times of delivery of produced tools, jigs and fixtures, and components, usually 1 – 4 months depending on the scope and complexity of the requirements of our customers. The size of the produced moulds is limited by technological capabilities of our production machinery – namely 500×500×500 mm. Exceptionally, even larger tools can be supplied, including their testing, sampling, and measurement reports.

TECHNOLOGIES:

The production uses the following technologies:

Conventional machining
Basic operations of metal heat treatment including hardening in the controlled atmosphere
CNC machining (including the 5th axis)
EDM die-sinking and wire cutting of metals
Only some, less frequently occurring, technological operations are provided through specialised companies (special hardening, nitration, hard chromium plating)

SERVICES:

The main line of business is production of moulds for processing of plastics and metal casting. They are able to provide all the required activities, including the consultation with customers, preparation of quotations, comprehensive production technical preparation, production and testing of moulds, execution of measurement reports as well as the approval for series production. They also offer their cooperation in individual projects of machine cutting, electric discharge machining, and tool grinding.

In addition to the production of new moulds for the injection moulds of plastics and metal casting, they also offer maintenance and repairs of moulds (including the preventive repairs) already operated by plastics press shops and foundries.

Through the contractual plastics press shops, they can also supply our customers with moulded plastic parts.

They also offer the production of prototype parts produced on their CNC milling centres.

FOUNDRY

PRODUCTS:

They produce precision castings by the method of lost wax process from aluminium, copper, and steel alloys, gravity-die castings, pressure die castings made of aluminium, and moulds for production of wax patterns.

The weights of produced castings are within the range of 1 g to 3.5 kg. The usual accuracy of our precise castings is in compliance with ČSN 014470, which is equivalent to the German standard VDG – P690. Depending on the type of the design of castings, we are able to produce castings with the minimum wall thickness of 1.8 mm. The maximum dimension of investment and gravity-die castings can be approximately 300 mm. The total area of pressure die castings in the mould parting line is limited to approximately 150 cm2. We are able to provide the production batches of 10 to 100,000 pieces. Our lead times are 2 to 10 weeks, depending on the complexity of castings.

TECHNOLOGIES:

They use the following casting technologies:

Production of precision castings made of aluminium, copper, and steel alloys by the method of lost wax and Rapid prototyping technology up to the dimension of 700 mm
Gravity-die casting from aluminium alloys
Pressure die casting from aluminium alloys
Production of moulds for wax patterns

The subsequent processing of raw castings uses the following technologies:

Surface treatment of castings by blasting (glass beads, corundum, blasting grit)
Heat treatment of castings (hardening, annealing, and refining)
Mechanical treatment and calibration
Machining on the conventional and CNC machines

For the application of all the above-mentioned technologies, the plant is equipped with the required machinery, equipment, and checking and measuring instruments. These are continuously innovated in compliance with the development plan, which is a prerequisite for a further increase in the volume of output and quality of our products.

SERVICES:

The main service provided to their customers consists in the comprehensive fulfilment of all their requirements.
They offer initial consultations, technical and economic analyses, technological designs, preparation of all the technical documentation, production of moulds and samples, as well as the approval for series production.

The basic services also include provision of all agreed technical inspections and preparation of the respective certificates.

They provide packaging and dispatch of castings as agreed with the customer, including the arrangement of the customs clearance.

They also ensure performance of separate technological operations – mechanical treatment by blasting, material spectral analyses, metallographic analyses, and penetration and tearing tests.
