Chemoprojekt, a.s. is Czech Design, Engineering and Contracting Company, which has been operating since its foundation in 1950 as a leading supplier for the organic and inorganic chemistry sector, petrochemistry, crude oil refining, natural gas processing, pulp and paper production, power generation and environmental protection.
After 1992, Chemoprojekt has been focusing on the comlex engineering activities and turn-key projects, mainly in the area of production of nitric acid, urea, oil & gas and biodiesel.
The first such executed project was Denox unit – removal of NOx gases for Stickstoff AG Piesteritz, Germany in 1993. Some of the other successfully executed turn-key projects are - Nitric acid production plant for DUSLO, a.s. Šala, Slovak Republic, Biodiesel unit from rape seed oil, MILO Olomouc, Czech Republic, Desulphurization of coke gases, Nová Huť, a.s., Ostrava and Třinecke železárny, a.s., Třinec, Czech Republic, Sulphuric acid production plant, Precheza, a.s., Přerov, Czech Republic, Polyolefin storage, Chemopetrol, a.s., Litvínov, Czech Republic, Nitric acid production plant for Lovochemie, a.s. Lovosice, Czech Republic. In june 2005, in BorsodChem MCHZ, s.r.o, Ostrava, Czech Republic, there has been started new hydrogen line ensuring the aniline production of 150 kt/year and in May 2006, trial operation of another hydrogen line has been started. Among the last finished projects are Glycerin distillation plant, SETUZA, a.s., Czech Republic and Reconstruction of chamber K11 and “D” distillation, Česká Rafinérská, a.s., Litvínov, Czech Republic. Furthermore, delivery of Nitric acid unit for Nitrogénmüvek Rt., Hungary has been finished and Biodiesel unit for SETUZA, a.s., Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic is in trial period.
Currently, thereare new projects under construction, e.g. Biodiesel production unit, MEROCO, a.s., Leopoldov, Slovakia, Revamp of urea unit and granulation unit, GRODNO Azot, Belarus, Urea granulation unit, NAK Novomoskovsk, RF, FEED for Nitric acid unit, Grande Paroisse, Le Grand Quevilly, France has been finished, engineering is under way for another Nitric acid unit, Bayer Polyurethanes (Shanghai) Company Ltd., China. Other recent projects under construction are: Butadiene unit, Kaucuk, a.s., Kralupy nad Vltavou, Czech Republic, Completion of Isomerization unit for refinery NRC, Iraq, Renewal of storage capacity for fuels, Cepro, a.s., Roudnice nad Labem, Czech Republic, Nitric acid unit, BorsodChem, Kazincbarcika, Hungary, Pipeline Kenya-Uganda, Africa, or Biodiesel unit, PREOL, a.s. (that is part of Agrofert holding).
After successful audit in July 1996, LRQA awarded Chemoprojekt the ISO 9001 Quality Certificate for Design and Project Management. In July 1997, the certification was extended to Procurement and Complex Engineering Services. The present certificate is after recertification in July 2005 valid until end of July 2009. Chemoprojekt is also holder of the certificate ISO 14001.
