Czech companies have completed additional 300km of the Baku – Beyuk – Kyasik railroad route in Azerbaijan. The section is part of the Baku – Tbilisi –Kars international railroad route.
Since 2011, Czech companies reconstructed more than 600km of railroads in Azerbaijan. The information was provided by the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP). Second part of the project ends at Iranian border where is a mountain terrain and will be finished mid 2019.
EGAP says that this is one of the biggest projects it has ever insured. More than 10 Czech companies participate on the project, mostly from the Třinecké železárny – Moravia Steel group. Financing is provide by six Czech banks. The total value of the contracts for the general repair of over 900km of railroad tracks is EUR 750m.
