Product, Service :
a) Wastewater treatment
Designing new technologies for cleaning wastewater contaminated by pollutants and waste from the industrial sphere, agricultural processes and from the communal sphere (containing mainly dissolved and organic compounds, inorganic salts, ions of heavy metals, radioactive material and other waste). Performing research and model verification of a suitable technology, e.g. chemical methods - coagulation, neutralization, sorption, ion exchange, physical or physical-chemical methods like flocculation, sludge thickening, dewatering etc. Application of phyto-remediation for communal water and a combination of individual methods. Design of second level of water treatment (after coagulation and neutralization processes). Design and provision of complex construction delivery or delivery of tailor-made technological parts.
b) Water management studies
Studies evaluating the water management conditions in a specific region or site. Studies are based on the results of previous investigations and define measures to be taken for solution of water related problems, e.g. flood protection, revitalization of water systems, development of water resources and their qualitative and quantitative protection. The results of the studies are used by the state administration for formulating a standpoint, for decision-making and for land use planning.
c) Design of water management sites
Design activity in the field of reclamation and revitalization of stream and reservoir systems involves elaboration of design documentation of water management constructions for all levels of administrative procedure. Design of flood protection measures and preparation of flood protection plans are prepared for mitigation of flood damages.
d) Groundwater remediation technologies
Groundwater remediation technologies are divided into the following three groups according to the type of contaminant involved:
1. Oil substances are gravitationally separated to the free phase followed by filtration treatment through active material or by stripping of volatile oil substances from water in desorption equipment followed by sorption through activated carbon filters or are discharged through a suitable filter by controlled filtration.
2. Chlorinated hydrocarbons are stripped and the volatile compounds are sorbed through activated carbon. The discharged water is also filtered through activated carbon in the control filtration process.
3. Heavy metals are removed by an ion exchanger or precipitated in the presence of a coagulant.
