One-third of Czech companies spend 10% of income on research

Almost one-third (31%) of Czech companies invested over 10% of their income in research and development in 2017, up 1 percentage point year-onyear.

A total of 2% of companies did not spend any means on research and development (2016: 11%), according to a survey by Deloitte and the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. When deciding on investments, companies put the highest emphasis on availability of qualified and skilled employees (66%) and the possibility to use multiple types of support, i.e. a combination of subsidies, investment incentives, tax deductions and other financial instruments (58%).
