The coal and gas heating plant, in cooperation with the waste incineration plant, should deliver heat to up to 50% of Prague by 2024. All the sources will be placed in the location of the existing Mělník power plant, daily E15 reports. Utility ČEZ group, which owns the power plant location, has already applied for environmental impact assessment (EIA) for all three structure. The communal waste incineration plant should have the capacity to burn 320,000 tons of waste p.a., i.e. 10,000 tons more than the incineration plant in Prague-Malešice.
