The company ČKD Kutná Hora is a Czech producer of steel and ductile iron castings, of welded components and of railway bogies. The company began production in 1967. ČKD became an independent private share-holders company in 1990. Since 1995, it has been fully privatized with no state shares. In 2005 ČKD Kutná Hora, a.s. employs in all its plants 2300 employees and exports 85 % of its products to Europe, the USA and Canada.
The company is certified according to ISO 9002:1994 and ISO 9001:2000.

Steel (carbon steel, low and medium alloyed steel and ductile iron castings) and ductile iron castings in weight from 1,5 - 2000 kg.
Rail vehicle castings, Castings for construction machines and pressure castings for valve bodies, castings of the industrial fittings, castings for the railway vehicles, earthmovers, electric engines, the ship industry and other engineering branches.
CKD owns 3 foundries in Kutna Hora, Ceske Budejovice and Chrudim.

Engineering shops
CKD owns 2 engineering shops in Kutna Hora and in Chrudim.
The engineering shop in Kutná Hora delivers complete bogies and machined welded parts of bogies and other parts of wheeled vehicles and building machines. Welded construction and knots up to a maximum weight of 12 500 kg and maximum size of 6000 x 1600 mm can be machined and assembled as final products. The machining operation consist of milling, turning, planing, the production of spines by milling and by the hobbing cuter. Cold pressing. Assembly. Spare parts can be upgraded by welding, spray coating or plastics application.
The machining shop in Chrudim ensures the final machining of welded components and of castings. Machined parts for:

- construction machines
- automobile industry
- handling material machines and lifting machines
- general use
Product, Service :
Tool shop
The tool shop manufactures welding fixtures, machining jigs, positioners, press tools and special production tools. The tools are produced either according to the documentation supplied by the customer or according to our own design.
