
Prague belongs to top 50 of Worldwide Centres of Commerce

Date : 11.06.2008According to the research of the MasterCard Company that continually ranks the world’s top cities (75 cities from the whole world) in terms of their performance in the global economy and explore their role in driving global commerce, Prague belongs to top fifty of Worldwide Centres of Commerce (49th place) and is the highest ranked Eastern European city. London, New York and Tokyo are the top three cities. Research was designed by experts in economics, urban studies and sociology and based on seven measurement dimensions - Legal and Political Framework, Economic Stability, Ease of Doing Business, Financial Flow, Business Center, Knowledge Creation and Information Flow and Livability.
The index shows that Prague is economically stable city with high quality of life and the ease of doing business in Prague is comparable to cities like Zurich or Geneva. It also reports that Prague’s influence on the world economy is higher than influence of Moscow, Budapest or Johannesburg.
