German carmaker Daimler confirmed a giant distribution centre for Mercedes-Benz spare parts in the CEE region will be built in the Czech Republic.

The site, owned by CTP, is 20km north of Prague in Úžice along the D8 motorway. With 250,000 sqm of usable space, the centre will be even larger in size than the Amazon distribution centre in Dobrovíz, just outside of Prague. Construction of such hall in CZ which is set to start in 2019 would come to over CZK 3 billion counting land and cost of equipment and new technologies.

The Czech Republic already has a significant number of automotive parts producers due the presence of several large carmakers.
