UAE is most globalised Arab country

Date : 06.04.2008The United Arab Emirates has topped Arab countries as the most globalised followed by Saudi Arabia, according to a report by Centre for Research in Economics, Management and the Arts (CREMA) in Zurich. According to the index measuring the economic, social and political dimensions and ranging from economic openness to attractiveness, the UAE is the world`s 35th most globalised country followed by Saudi Arabia (36) and Kuwait (40).
Total 24 sub-indices and criteria refer to the country`s actual economic flows, economic restrictions, attractiveness to foreign direct investments, information flows, quality of telephone and internet services, numbers of foreigners and the like. The world`s most globalised country is Belgium, followed by Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
