The Czech government will sign a declaration on strategic cooperation with BMW. It concerns the construction of a development and testing centre of the carmaker to be established in the district of Sokolov. BMW's investment of EUR 250m will go to advanced technologies. This information was provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO) which added that the aim of the 525-hectare centre was to enable real simulation of different types of traffic and traffic situations and to develop new systems. Minister Tomáš Hüner (for ANO) said that the investment would mean hundreds of new jobs for the Karlovy Vary Region. It is currently assumed that the centre will be operational at the end of 2022.
