EPH reduces CO2 emissions by 38%

Energetický a průmyslový holding (EPH) reduced CO2 emissions by 38% and SO2 emissions by 70% compared to 2015.

The Group's electricity production from renewable energy sources (RES) in 2021 totalled 3.959 GWh (+8% y/y). EPH also increased heat production from RES by 20%. CEO Daniel Křetínský said the group will reduce CO2 emissions by 60% by 2030 compared to 2021. By 2050, it will be carbon neutral. He added that EPH is looking for opportunities in the RES segment, in addition to switching from coal to natural gas and biomass. It is concentrating these efforts in its subsidiary EP New Energies, which is developing projects in Germany.
