The base has already received
the first two machines. The American specialists are now
completing them together with the Czech ones and they will carry
out the certification together. By mid-September 2023, four more
will be added to the base, including two Vipers and the first two UH-1Y Venoms. The intergovernmental agreement for the purchase
of 12 new helicopters of the H-1 system was signed in 2019 by then
Minister of Defense Lubomír Metnar. The Czech Republic will
receive another eight modernized ones from the USA for free as
recognition for helping Ukraine. The Czech army will thus have at its
disposal 10 UH-1Y Venom machines and the same number of AH-1Z
Viper machines.
