The number of passenger cars produced in the Czech Republic in H1 2021 increased by 37.1% y-o-y to 663,015. The Automotive Industry Association (AutoSAP) reported that after a rise in production in March and April, monthly production in June was back close to the 100,000 vehicles produced mark, down 0.8% y/y. This is mainly due to the lack of chips and weaker demand in EU. ŠKODA accounted for 420,838 vehicles (+24.7%) of total production. ŠKODA was followed by Hyundai (142,400; +47.7%) and Toyota (99,777; +43.3%). Bus production reached 2,327 machines (+4.3%). The truck segment fell by 14.3% to 538. Motorcycle production increased by 124.1% to 558.
