Czech city Brno will be soon the only owner of the Technology Park with the goal to boost start-ups development.

Brno will buy the second half of the Technology Park for 559 million Czech crowns with aim to run more start-ups there. The decision was approved by the councilors and the city will thus become almost the only owner of the Technology Park as it already owns half of it. The technology park provides office space for innovative companies and research institutions in the area in the north of Brno. The city uses the money from the reserves to make this investment, it does not have to take the loan. According to the Mayor of the city, Markéta Vaňková, it is advantageous for Brno to be an almost 100 % owner as it is better for decision-making. Brno wants to maintain the original function of the Technology Park and develop it as a place for a great number of startups.
