ČEZ Group involved in plant for aircraft fuel from hydrogen

The first European commercial plant for renewable aircraft fuel to be built in the Heroya industrial park in Porsgrunn, Norway. The production is set up to 10m L before the end 2026.

Through Sunfire, a company in which the ČEZ Group owns a minority share via the Inven Capital fund, the ČEZ Group is involved in the construction of the first European commercial plant for renewable aircraft fuel based on hydrogen. The project is backed by Oslobased Norsk e-Fuel consortium, also including Climeworks, Paul Wurth and Valinor. The plant to be built in the Heroya industrial park in Porsgrunn, Norway, plans the initial annual production capacity of 10m L of fuel. It is to be commissioned in 2023. The consortium wants to produce up to 100m L before the end of 2026.
