E-commerce grew to CZK 200bn; firms looking for experts

The growth of the industry was accelerated by the Coronavirus epidemic. E-commerce accounts for 16% of total retail sales.

The Czech e-commerce market grew by 26% y/y and approached the CZK 200bn mark in 2020. This was stated by Shopsys based on data provided by the Electronic Commerce Association, noting that this was almost twice the growth rate compared to the dynamics between 2019 and 2020. The growth of the industry was accelerated by the coronavirus epidemic when many companies accelerated digitization and the transition to online solutions. Businesses are now increasingly looking to recruit managers who have experience with the transformation into the e-environment. E-commerce accounts for 16% of total retail sales.
