The trade
balance in goods at current prices reached, according to preliminary data, a
surplus of CZK 33.4bn, some CZK 24.4bn up y/y, in October 2020. According to
data provided by the Czech Statistical Office, the trade balance with EU27
countries showed a surplus of CZK 80.7bn (+ CZK 23.4bn). The deficit of the
trade with countries outside the European Union fell by CZK 1.7bn to CZK
45.2bn. Compared to September 2020, the seasonally adjusted exports and imports
rose by 4.7% and 3.4%, respectively. Compared with October 2019, exports
increased by 5.6% to CZK 359.6bn, while imports fell by 1.7% to CZK 326.2bn.
