Labour Office: Unemployment up to 3.7% in June

The Czech Republic recorded the highest number of jobseekers since February 2018.

The Labour Office registered as of June 30, 2020, 269,637 jobseekers, up 3,493 on May and 73,914 more than a year ago. This is the highest value since February 2018. Of the total number of unemployed persons, 251,460 applicants were available last month. The share of the unemployed rose to 3.7% (May 2020: 3.6%, June 2019: 2.6%). In June, employers offered 334,904 vacancies through the Labour Office, of which 11,791 under non-employment agreements. According to Eurostat data, the Czech Republic had the lowest unemployment rate in the entire EU in May.
