LIBERTY Ostrava Ironworks produced 1.93m tons of iron

In 2021 LIBERTY Ostrava produced 2.28m tons of liquid steel in 2021, which is 33 % more than in 2020 and at the same time the most since 2016. Pig iron production increased by 35 % to 1.93m tons. Production of final products increased by almost 30 % to 2.16m tons, while the flat steel segment increased by 84 % to 680,000 tons and production of long products by 19 % to almost 1.5m tons. The production of seamless pipes amounted to 136,000 tons. In the next eight years, the LIBERTY Steel Group plans to invest billions of crowns in the transformation of LIBERTY Ostrava into a carbon-neutral green steel producer. The replacement of the existing four tandem furnaces of the steelworks with two hybrid electric arc furnaces will be key.
