ŠKODA AUTO is using artificial intelligence to fill cargo containers. Application OPTIKON AI calculates the best placement and the optimum amount of various types of palettes, thus maximizing the load capacity of containers. This was stated by the automaker, which added that in 1Q 2020 the use of the new app led to saving 151 container shipments, which corresponds to 80 tons of CO2 emissions. Logistics at ŠKODA AUTO had been using OPTIKON, which the automaker developed itself, since November 2019.
