Czech industry grew fastest among EU Member States in September

The industrial output is still catching up on pre-COVID numbers though

According to data published by the European Statistical Office Eurostat, the industrial production in the Czech Republic recorded the fastest growth pace among all EU Member States in September of this year compared to the previous month. The industrial production grew by 4.1%, followed by Slovakia (+3.4%) and Poland (3.1%). On the other hand, the largest decrease was recorded in Italy (-5.6%), Ireland (-4.7%) and Portugal (-3.8%). Compared to the same month of previous year, Czech industry production declined by 1.5%; however, it is slowly returning to pre-COVID output after significant declines in April 2020 (-35.2%) and May (-25.3%). Overall, month-on-month comparison shows that the industrial production of the euro area was down by 0.4% in September and remained unchanged in the whole EU.
