Czech Republic has the highest job vacancy rate in the EU

While the average job vacancy rate was 2.2% in the EU, it reached 5.9% in the Czech Republic.

According to the statistical office of the European Union Eurostat, the Czech Republic has the highest job vacancy rate in the whole EU. The released data are covering the fourth quarter of 2019 and compare the situation with the previous quarter of the same year. The job vacancy rate in the Czech Republic reached 5.9% while the average is 2.2% both in the euro area and EU27. Among the countries with the highest job vacancy rate, the Czech Republic is followed by Belgium (3.4%) and Germany (3.3%), while the lowest job vacancy rate was recorded in Greece (0.5%), Bulgaria (0.8%), Ireland, Spain and Portugal (all countries 0.9%).
