The Ministry of Industry and Trade
of the Czech Republic has announced the second call for the program Obchůdek
2021+ to support corner shops in rural areas. The region can use this program
in case there is only one shop in the village and cover some costs, such as
staff salaries, rent, heating, lighting, and internet, up to 130 000 CZK. Applications
will be open from 1 September to 15 October 2022.
"I am very pleased that we have
managed to increase the budget to support small rural shops in these difficult
times. I believe that the regions will join the programme and thus support the
preservation of basic services in small villages," says Minister of
Industry and Trade Jozef Síkela.
The application for the subsidy is
submitted by the regions, which will announce their subsidy programme for shops
in their territory. Due to high inflation, energy, and fuel prices, the
Ministry of Industry and Trade has increased the total subsidy for the
programme from CZK 39 million to CZK 52 million, which will allow individual
regions (outside the territory of the Capital City of Prague) to receive up to
CZK 4 million in subsidies. The region can pay up to CZK 130,000 in operating
aid to shops.
