Avast has announced the acquisition of Canada’s SecureKey Technologies, which specialises in digital identity. Its solutions ensure over 200m secure digital identification transactions per year worldwide. For example, the company is behind the first distributed network to verify the digital identity of its kind, Verified.me, which helps Canadian users securely verify their identity—the Government Sign-In service to log into hundreds of government online services and applications. Avast further stated that technologies from SecureKey would expand its new product offer for digital-identity protection, which should be available during the second quarter of 2022.
