Unemployment in the Czech Republic up to 3.4% in April

The unemployment rate in the Czech Republic jumped to 3,4 percent in April 2020 from 3 percent in the previous month.

The share of unemployed persons rose to 3.4% in April 2020. In March, unemployment was 3%, in April 2019 it was 2.7%. The Labour Office (ÚP) has informed that as of April 30, 2020, 254,040 job seekers were registered, up 44,212 y/y. Of the total number of unemployed, 235,523 applicants were available. Employers offered 332,748 job vacancies through the Labour Office, of which 11,438 under non-employment agreements.
