Wealth of Czech households grows

Czech households are getting richer in comparison to other countries all over the world. The Czech Republic does best within Central and Eastern European countries.

Last year Czech households have seen an increase by 4.4 % in spite of slight decrease of total household wealth by 0,1 % in developing and also developed countries. According to the annual Allianz Global Wealth Report 2019 the Czech Republic is currently in the 25th place out of 53 analyzed countries in terms of the volume of net financial assets. Even though the debt of the Czech population rose to 34.6 % compared to central and eastern European average of 23.6 %, the average wealth of Czech citizen was about 16,785 euros which is higher than in 2017 where the wealth reached only 15,290 euros. Czech citizens are 2.5 times wealthier than Slovakian population.
