Founded in 1849, VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava is one of Czech’s largest public universities, and offers programmes at the Bachelor's, Master's and PhD levels to over 16,000 students in engineering, technical, and business related areas.
Research Focus
The University is home to the National Supercomputing Centre. Research is informed by close connection to industry, which in turn ensures that education is geared towards helping students solve the real problems found in the workplace. Practical exercises in state-of-the-art laboratories comprises up to 50% of the teaching content of courses.
