Measures against the spread of coronavirus in 2020 also had a negative effect on foreign trade, whose balance in goods in 8M 2020 reached CZK 71.1bn, according to preliminary results. This represents a year-on-year decrease of CZK 41.6bn. The information was provided by the Czech Statistical Office. Year-to-date, exports decreased by 11.0% and imports by 9.7% y/y. From a commodity point of view, the overall declines in exports and imports since the beginning of the year are mainly due to the manufacturing industry.
