Hydroelectric power plants operated by group ČEZ in the Czech
Republic produced a total of 684 GWh of electricity in 1H 2021. In
the first six months of last year, they produced 406 GWh. Year-onyear
growth was mainly driven by large hydropower plants. The
volume of energy from these green sources will cover the half-year
consumption of 390,000 Czech households. Group ČEZ announced
that modernization and increasing the efficiency of hydroelectric
power plants, which help save water, continue. In addition, it is
preparing solar parks with an output of thousands of MW in the
coming years. q
