In the first half of 2021, the total amount of brewed beer in the
Czech Republic dropped 549,191 hl y/y. This information was
provided by the Czech Union of Breweries and Malt Houses (ČSPS).
In June, the beer on tap segment almost reached the levels of prepandemic
years. Exports grew by nearly 6%. Whereas in the first
quarter, the production of beer on tap did not exceed 50% in a yearon-
year comparison (January: 16%; February: 35%; March: 43%), the
interest in bottled and canned beer was higher (January: 109%;
February: 116%; March: 116%). The trend was the other way round in
the second quarter (June: on-trade at 108% and off-trade at 93%).
