The balance of foreign trade in goods at current prices ended with a deficit of EUR 1.11bn in October 2022, up EUR 0.42bn y/y, according to preliminary data. This was reported by the Czech Statistical Office, adding that the main reason is still high prices of imported energy commodities and inputs. The balance with EU countries improved by EUR 0.7bn. The deficit with non-EU countries widened by EUR 1.14bn. Exports rose by 17.2% to EUR 16.3bn and imports by 19.2% to EUR 17.5bn. On a month-onmonth adjusted basis, exports fell by 2.6% and imports by 1.8%. In 10M 2022, the balance showed a deficit of EUR 7.2bn (2021: surplus of EUR 0.14bn).
