Czech GDP up 2.4% in 2019

The economy of the Czech Republic (GDP) grew in 2019 by 2,4 %.

According to preliminary estimates, GDP in the Czech Republic increased by 2.4% in 2019. Growth was supported mainly by household consumption expenditure and foreign demand.

Investment also increased slightly. The largest contributors to the growth in gross value added were the trade, transport, hotels and restaurants and information and communication activities.

GDP in Q4 increased by 0.2% q/q and 1.7% y/y. Growth was driven mainly by household consumption.
