Government terminates Antivirus Program

The Czech Republic government has extended only the part of the Antivirus Program that relates to mandated quarantines and isolations until the end of June 2021. The reimbursement of wages to establishments closed as a result of the pandemic was terminated at the end of May. Labour and Social Affairs Minister Jana Maláčová (ČSSD) stated that the compensation programme has supported over 1 million employees so far. She added that the economy is almost completely open and therefore it is right to gradually shut down Antivirus. However, the programme as such will remain on hold until the end of the year.
