Analysts predict stagnation of industry in 2020

The Czech industry will most likely not show a full-year growth in

2020 for the first time since 2013. It will rather only stagnate. This is

predicted by UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia economist

Patrik Rožumberský. ČSOB’s analyst Petr Dufek predicts rather

a very weak 1H, which will be influienced also by a lower demand for

cars and other goods for export. Raiffeisenbank’s chief economist

Helena Horská thinks that branches depending on cheap labour will

have a growing problem coping with a further growth in labour

costs. CZECH FUND’s chief economist Lukáš Kovanda thinks that

the full-year result of the industry will be in a range from 0 to -0.5

%.
