MF: Budget balance fell y/y to CZK 100bn
At the end of April 2022, the state budget ended with a deficit of
CZK 100.1bn. After adjusting for EU revenues and financial
mechanisms, as well as expenditures on these projects, the deficit
amounted to CZK 98.6bn. The Ministry of Finance of the Czech
Republic (MF) further informed that the economic balance improved
by CZK 91.9bn y/y. This was influenced by minor restrictions related
to the course of the pandemic. Budget revenues increased by 8.5
% (+ CZK 37.5bn). Tax revenue, including insurance premiums,
contributed the most to this (+ 12.6 %, + CZK 47.3bn). The decrease
in total expenditures by CZK 54.4bn (-8.6 %) was determined in
terms of volume by the development of current expenditures (CZK
-44.0bn, -7.4 %).
