A group of scientists including experts from Masaryk University,
University of West Bohemia in Plzeň and CEITEC Institute of
Technical University tested new possibilities of lossless
transmission of electric signal. These could be used, for example, in
quantum computer processors. The experimental work dealt with
characterization of properties of so called topological insulators, i.e.
materials that conduct electric current only on the surface and
otherwise behave as insulators. The results could help build
a quantum computer in the future.
