Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy (DPP, Prague Public Transit Company) plans to purchase at least 69 driverless units for the automated C and D lines of the Prague underground system. The investment amounts to almost 25bn CZK. The information was provided by the participants of the first preliminary meeting of potential suppliers. Currently, the list consits of these candidates: Alstom Transport, AŽD Praha, Bombardier Transportation, Hitachi Rail, Inekon Group, Siemens Mobility, Stadler Rail Management, Škoda Transportation and Thales. According to the DPP spokeswoman Aneta Řeháková, the first automated units could opperate the metro C line by 2027, if the call for tender is proposed by 2022.
