The total production of high-voltage traction batteries at the ŠKODA
AUTO plant in Mladá Boleslav reached a milestone of 100,000 pcs
on February 9, 2021. The carmaker started their production 15
months ago. The related investment reached EUR 25.3m. The
facility, sized ca. 2,000 m2, is used in addition to batteries for plugin
hybrid cars from the ŠKODA brand, also for the production of
batteries for models of the AUDI, SEAT and Volkswagen Group
brand. 58 employees work here every shift. A total of 13 robots
handle extremely heavy or cumbersome parts. These are designed
for weights from 210 to 500 kg and insert battery modules into the
production line or unload finished battery systems from the line to
pallets.
