Inflation slows down to 2.2 % in the Czech Republic

This year inflation: consumer prices increased by 2.2% y/y, some 0.1 percentagepoint down compared with December 2020.

In January 2021, consumer prices increased by 2.2% y/y, some 0.1 percentage point down compared with December 2020. The moderation in pace was mainly influenced by prices in the segment of housing. The information was provided by the Czech Statistical Office. Overall, prices of goods increased by 1.9% and the prices of services by 2.6%. The aggregate consumer price index excluding imputed rentals was 102.3%. The inflation rate, expressed as an increase in the average consumer price index over the past 12 months against the average of the previous period, reached 3.0%. According to Eurostat estimates for the euro area, the HICP was 0.9%.
