CasInvent Pharma to develop new compounds for cancer treatment.

Masaryk University in Brno (MUNI), in cooperation with the investment partner i&i Prague, founded the spin-off company CasInvent Pharma. The aim is to enable the further development of new compounds that could be used as drugs for certain types of leukemias, lymphomas and solid tumours.

Thanks to the new company, research groups can complete the preclinical phase of drug development and move the most promising compounds into clinical trials. MUNI has so far participated in the establishment of 17 spin-offs. The biotechnological incubator i&i Prague Biotechnology Incubator focuses on finding and supporting technologies in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries. So far, it has supported more than 10 spin-off companies from four countries and has an ownership stake in eight, in which it has invested a total of over CZK 50m.
