Production in construction industry is growing

Czech Construction output in January 2021 was down by 5.2% y/y at constant prices. It increased by 4.2% m/m.

Construction production down 5.2%, employment down 0.7% Construction output in January 2021 was down by 5.2% y/y at constant prices. It increased by 4.2% m/m. Building authorities issued 6044 building permits, 12.3% less than in January 2020. The approximate value of these projects reached CZK 33.0bn (-8.3%). The data were published by the Czech Statistical Office. The number of started dwellings decreased by 11.3% to 2629 units. There were 3,027 completed dwellings (+ 11.5%). The average registered number of employees in construction decreased by 0.7%. The average gross monthly nominal wage in the branch increased by 0.4%. According to Eurostat data, construction output in the EU27 in December 2020 showed a decrease of 2.1%.
