AE, RB: Export to grow, risks include suppliers’ problems

Czech exports will increase year on year in the spring of 2021.

However, the low base effect will play a significant role: in April 2020, the volume of exports fell by 38% and in May by almost 29%. This is stated in the Export Index published by Raiffeisenbank and the Association of Exporters. The risk for worse-than-expected developments is the growing complications in supply chains, exacerbated by the unfavourable domestic epidemic situation. Another threat may be considerations about the closure of the Czech-Polish border or growing problems with maritime transport.
