Most companies plan to invest in innovations in the next 12 months.

A negative development regarding COVID-19, however, could slow down or threaten their plans. Half the companies therefore believe that the responsibility for assistance in this area is up to state entities. According to a survey conducted by IPSOS for the Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic (AMSP) and Česká spořitelna, innovations would most frequently be directed at strengthening competitiveness, expanding products and services, technologies and making administration easier. The majority of entrepreneurs plan to invest at least CZK 500,000. Roughly one-third of firms want to use a bank loan and one-quarter a subsidy. Roughly 50% of the companies have already made advancements in automation, digitisation or robotisation or intend to start making them during the next 12 months.
