Average wage grows 4.3% and exceeds CZK 34,000

In the second quarter of 2019, the average gross monthly nominal wage calculated according to employee numbers in the economy totalled CZK 34,105, which was CZK 2,290 (or 7.2%) more than in the same period of 2018.

These figures stem from the data published by the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ), which added that in the monitored period, consumer prices grew 2.8% and the wage therefore increased 4.3% in real numbers. The volume of wages grew 7.7% and the number of employees was 0.5%. The wage median (CZK 29,127) grew 6.9% compared to the same period of last year. It was CZK 31,764 for men and CZK 26,375 for women. A total of 80% of employees earned a wage between CZK 14,955 and CZK 55,259.
